August and September were pretty pathetic. Of course, many of us saw one another over our various vacations, so it’s to be expected.
The good news: It appears I managed to guilt/bully at least one of you into posting when you wouldn’t otherwise have done so. Wonderful! My little pep talks here must not have been in vain. Keep up the good work! And the rest of you– Remember, we’re keeping score!
On that note, While none of us did very well, I’d like to particularly negatively commend WEF2, WEF3.0, and WEF7, and encourage them to step up to the plate, come out swinging, keep you eye on the ball, and knock a few posts out of the park! …Say, is it October already? Are there some baseball games going on or something?
August started out great with three posts on the First, three more on the Second, one on the Third, four on the Fourth, one on the Sixth and two on the Seventh, for 14 posts in the first week!
Unfortunately, the next one didn’t appear until the 21st, which sorta killed that month.
In any case, here are the box scores:

October is starting off well again, so let’s keep it up and let everyone know what’s going on in your tawdry little lives (just kidding, of course!)

NOTES FROM THE BLOG NAZI:

Like Mistress Greta’s dobermanns, Adolf and Spot, my two pet peeves continue to snap at my backside!
Well, I am not afraid to name names! The guilty must consider themselves in the Virtual Cooler for an extended period–And NO ball gloves!
During the past two months some of you continued to insist on posting in the “Unfiled” category:
WEF2; WEF3 (Four times!); WEF4; and WEF6 (Twice!)
Unless you people can explain to me why your posts are about “Unfiled”, You shall receive no mercy from me, nor from my lovely assistants!
And nomenclature conventions continue to be too often grossly ignored!! Are you listening, WEF2 (Thrice), WEF3, WEF4 (Four instances, including a TITLE!!), and WEF6 (Twice)?
And on the first of this very month, there occurred a COMPLETE MELTDOWN involving several comments! Isn’t that right…. WEF3?? It seems you will indeed be left to the tender mercies of my two lovely assistants, Brunhilde and Muffy. They love their work so much they have volunteered to whip you into shape even though the verdammit ersatz buttons on their blouses have disintegrated, and, due to wartime rationing, have not been replaced. Meanwhile, it appears Mistress Greta has lost her entire uniform, yet also remains on duty. Take a bow, Ladies!
Big changes have been afoot here at WExForce the past two months– What at earlier times threatened to become the WEF6-WEF1 Blog now looks more like the WEF3-WEF4 Blog! Others have also increased participation, contributing to the health of the Blog.

JULY TOTALS: 28 Posts, 63 posts
In June, we almost reached a new benchmark with everybody making at least one post during the month, but, alas, we had nothing from…former high scorer WEF6! Shocking! (although she contributed many comments over the two months) I can’t say much because in July I only had one post myself.
But WEF3 and WEF 4 stepped into the breech to more than make up for our dismal performances.
The big surprise, however was when WEF5 decided to jump in all the way, with lengthy and thoughtful posts and comments. Who could have predicted this? Certainly none of his former teachers, I suspect! WEF5, We Salute You!
WEF7 and WEF2 also made modest improvements, which we hope will continue. We’d like to hear more from WEF3.0, but we understand that she’s now making contributions to the family of a totally different nature.
Here are some additional interesting stats:
Grand Totals :
Feb: 25/25
Mar: 32/64
Apr: 18/35
May: 9/13
Jun: 34/57
Jul: 28/63
You can see that despite the coma we all went into during part of April and all of May, WExForce is going strong. With our vacation coming up this month, I expect to see lower numbers since we’ll actually see each other. However, WEF6 is starting out strong with reports of her Turkish adventures.

Several of you are slipping up regarding our peculiar institution of nomenclature. Who are these “Nate” and “Morgan” persons, and why are they cluttering up this blog?
And why is “Unfiled” still one of our more popular categories? Perhaps you should all go back and make the proper corrections. Or perhaps what you need is a good drowning in our dungeon water tank wearing nothing but sexy underwear, eh??
As a true conservative, naturally I hate it, because it’s a change.
But, assuming we aren’t taking this too seriously, and in the spirit of comity and cooperation, I’ll play.
I think 1) it’s too confusing, and 2) it’s a bad idea to change a name (in this case two names) if we can avoid it.
It’s going to be a bit difficult to keep straight pre-marriage WEF6 and post-marriage WEF6-1, who has off-loaded WEF6-3 and WEF6-4, then shot WEF6-2 for not being present at the birth of WEF6-4, reverted back to WEF6, and, after paying her debt to society, has married WEF6-5, thereby becoming WEF6-1 again, and has birthed WEF6-6– not to mention her son WEF6-4 who by this time has married WEF6-4-2 and metamorphosed into WEF 6-4-1 like a tadpole turning into a bullfrog.
Besides, by the logic of the proposed system, WEF3 would actually be the former WEF1-3 who is now WEF1-3-1. In fact, here is the new line-up:
WEF1 = WEF1 (we have to start SOMEWHERE)
WEF2 = WEF1-2
WEF3 = WEF1-3, er… 1-3-1
WEF3.5 = WEF 1-3-2
WEF4 = WEF1-4
WEF5 = …well, you get the picture.
Now I realize consistency is the hob-goblin of little minds, and my solution will still not be perfectly consistent in any case. That’s because our original concept was highly nuclear (Wildermuth) family-centric. Nevertheless, I think I have a better system that will be clearer, keep the spawn straight, and only involve one minor name-change (sorry WEF3.5!)
WEF1 through WEF7 remain unchanged.
WEF3.5 changes to WEF3.0– To all you feminists out there, WEF3 and WEF3.0 now have the same VALUE (get it , Gloria Steinem?), just expressed differently.
The incoming round becomes WEF3.1, followed by WEF3.2., etc.
WEF3.2’s spouse would be WEF3.2.0, with r-rats WEF3.2.1, WEF3.2.2 …
This way, except for the core group who have been hopelessly compromised , all others can be easily identified by birth position (WEF3.2.1 is WEF3’s second child’s first child).
Not that I expect the blog to go on for the next 20 years, but at least we are approaching logical consistency and clarity.
As for the replacement for WEF6’s murdered spouse- While not very romantic (but in the true Wildermuth spirit), Spouse #2 would be WEF6.0 (squared) — we should have some time before we need it to figure out how to position the “2″ as an exponent behind the “0″ in the WoodPress text.
It will be highly gratifying as you respond with your comments on this obviously superior system.
The last two months have not been good ones for the WEF Blog. I realize that with a lot of people traveling and seeing each other anyway there was less of a need for posting. Still, it was pretty pathetic. Naturally I completely exonerate myself and WEF2 since we seldom had access to a computer while we were on the road; as for the rest of you…
Anyway, here are the sad numbers:

February: Posts-25 Comments-25
So April was about half of March, and May was about half of April. Not a good trend.
June is starting off better, but with only a few contributors. Some of you haven’t posted anything in May or (so far) in June! Where are you, WEFs 3.5, 4, and 7?
We especially miss the stuff from WEF4, whose posts are always so entertaining.
On the other hand, we finally heard from WEF5, with both a post and a comment!

If you forget to put in the proper category, (or even a title!) you can always go back and fix it later from the “manage” page. We won’t mind.
Once again, it’s time to review the past month. First, the stats

Great job as we’ve had an almost 100% increase in activity. With WEF4 and WEF3 jumping in an such a big way, there’s a much better distribution than last month.
It’s tailed off quite a bit over the past week, though. I’ve got an excuse, how about the rest of you?
Notes from the Blog Nazi:
What’s with the “unfiled” posts? Fully one quarter of the posts didn’t have the proper category.
Back in my “February Retrospective” post I asked everybody to properly use comments when responding to posts rather than using a new post. Since then I have learned my lesson. Not only did WEF6 give me a reasonable rationale for this practice (Nobody reads comments), but it soon became apparent that she was right. Otherwise how could there possibly be a post entitled “Dad’s Lost Post on Politics”? (Who is this “Dad”?)
I am ready to admit defeat on this. Otherwise the only ones who will ever read my and WEF6’s comments are each other (Not that there’s anything wrong with that). There are many blogs that do it that way, such as NRO’s “The Corner”. All I ask is that when responding to a prior post, we use the title, “RE:” followed by the title of the post you’re responding to. That way we won’t be any more confused than usual. Of course the anarchists among us (You know who you are!) will ignore this minor request on principle, but what can you do?
I’ll still use comments on occasion for very short, well, comments. So keep on the lookout for them. Anything at all substantive, though, will appear as a Post. See my Last Hurrah in a series of comments on my post “Poor Writing, with a Little Poor Thinking Thrown in”
